Our History

2021

Expanded skills training and partnerships

2013-2017

Coordinated community workshops related to public safety, foreclosure prevention, financial literacy, home ownership and a six week literacy camp for youth

2004-2007

Constructed a 9,600 square foot office and retail space, 26,000 square foot neighborhood grocery store and offered miscellaneous workforce literacy workshops

1978-1981

Established in 1978 and incorporated as a non-profit in 1981

2018-2020

Completed 3 duplexes for seniors 62+, Offered State based healthcare training

2008-2010

Focused on establishing a green community, constructed a water playground for children, established urban and community gardens

1981-2003

Offered HIV/AIDS prevention & awareness training, rehabbed houses, secured property for grocery store and retail center helped residents increase home ownership awareness and maintenance

2018 Neighborhood Plan

Neighborhood plans are the road map to help residents and neighborhood leaders identify where the neighborhoods should go in the future. The 2018 Northside Neighborhood plan has updated recommendations and goals to be focused short term actions.
